Floors and lobbies

A Winter Entryway Cleaning Plan for Aurora Offices

Plan how your office will handle wet mats, tracked-in grit, and visible residue at entrances during snowy weather.

Follow the route people take

Check the main door, side entrances, and the path from each door to reception. Use that walk to identify where water, slush, and grit tend to collect. If your office shares a lobby, confirm which areas your building manager handles.

Check mats and floor transitions

Look at where mats end and where people step onto hard flooring. Decide who checks for shifted or saturated mats during the day and where a dry replacement can be stored. Pass along any floor care instructions before asking for changes to the cleaning routine.

Plan for the time between visits

Make a short list of the tasks your staff or building team can handle during a storm, such as reporting a wet area or exchanging a soaked mat. For scheduled cleaning, point out the edges, corners, and walkways where residue tends to remain after traffic slows.
